Prescriptions

Prescriptions Information

The Dispensary at Hatfield Peverel is open:

Monday to Friday from 8.30am - 6.30pm

Repeat prescriptions will be issued, for patients on long term treatment and regular medicine reviews are undertaken.

Requests for repeat prescriptions should be left in one of the 'repeat prescription boxes' provided.

Please use the repeat slip wherever possible and allow TWO COMPLETE WORKING DAYS before collection. It is the patients/carers responsibility to make sure the request is handed in before current medication is due to run out  to ensure there is enough medication to cover this period.

Alternatively, repeat prescriptions can be requested by email.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ON-LINE SERVICES ARE ALSO AVAILABLE.  PLEASE ASK RECEPTION FOR DETAILS.

If you are unable to use the above preferred methods, then the dispenser at Hatfield Peverel will answer the telephone daily between 09.00am and 10.00am and from 3pm and 4pm

It is our policy and that of the Government to issue one months supply of drugs at a time.

We are only allowed to dispense medicine to those patients who live more than one mile from a Chemist.

Repeat Prescriptions Information

You can obtain a repeat prescription by the following:-

  • By placing repeat prescription request form (ie the green tear off slip on the reverse of your prescription) into the repeat prescribing box in the foyer of each surgery
  • By post
  • By completing a repeat re-order request at the front desk of your surgery
  • By Email to hatfielddispensary@nhs.net

** Please do not use the generic Email address link in the page title to request your prescriptions **

Please ensure that the items you require are requested clearly by ticking the appropriate box on the repeat request form, or if you do not have a repeat request form, please ensure that your name, address and the items you require are clearly indicated.

In order to process the large number of requests each day please note that 48 hours notice is required for repeat prescription requests.

The Schedule for ordering and collection is therefore:-

  • Monday for Wednesday
  • Tuesday for Thurdays
  • Wednesday for Friday
  • Thursday for Monday
  • Friday for Tuesday

Due to the high volume of requests received by the practice each day, you should note that you will be asked to call back if you request your prescription earlier than the times indicated above.

When ordering prescriptions please specify which Pharmacy you would like to collect them from as they will now be sent electronically.
